Taking our "next-generation planetarium" from Tohoku to all of Japan

We presented at the Tohoku Branch of the Society for the Promotion of Astronomical Education!

Curascopium recently reported on our planetarium performance at the Sendai Astronomical Observatory, enjoyed by visually impaired and sighted audiences together, at the Tohoku Branch of the Society for the Promotion of Astronomical Education.

About the presentation

The branch meeting was held online, with participants engaged in a wide range of education and outreach activities. Focusing on the Sendai performance, we reported on the design of a new planetarium built around sound and space, the trial and error leading up to it, and the audience's reactions on the day.

Afterwards we received warm comments and valuable feedback from many participants — full of hints for future improvements and expansion.

Next steps, toward all of Japan

Starting with this branch meeting, we will continue presenting this planetarium work at the Kanto Branch and the national annual meeting.
We want to keep refining a space experience that everyone can enjoy, drawing on diverse perspectives and expertise.
