Our second crowdfunding campaign has started!

Hello everyone!
I'm Yusaku Tanaka, president of the nonprofit CURASCOPIUM.

We have launched our second crowdfunding campaign toward a next-generation planetarium that visually impaired and sighted people can enjoy together!

In just five days from launch, we received ¥500,000 in support — half of our goal!

To everyone who has contributed: thank you so much. Your warm support is a huge encouragement to us.

But to make this project a success, we need even more momentum!
Please consider supporting us or sharing the campaign with the people around you!

About the project

This campaign's theme is "a space experience that does not rely on visual information" — a completely new planetarium built around sound. By offering a place that visually impaired and sighted people can enjoy equally, we aim to share the fascination and wonder of the universe together.

Our previous campaign, themed around "space food," was supported by many of you. This time we go a step further with an immersive planetarium centered on a soundscape of the universe.

What makes this planetarium special

  • A universe that unfolds through sound
Using soundscape techniques, we offer a new way to feel the universe through senses other than sight — for example, the rotation of galaxies and the explosions of stars, recreated with original sound design.

  • Immersive narration by professional voice actors
A guided journey through space, told with rich emotion and language that also works well for visually impaired listeners.

  • Fully inclusive design
One-on-one support for visually impaired visitors ensures a comfortable, safe experience, while sighted visitors share something fresh and stimulating.

Schedule

  • Dates:
    Saturday, January 4, 2025, 13:15–13:50
    Sunday, January 5, 2025, 17:15–17:50 and 18:25–19:00
(Doors open 15 minutes before each show)

  • Venue: Sendai Astronomical Observatory
